Schleich - Snowy Owl - 14671
The Snowy Owl is a relatively large species of an owl whose primary colour of white is an adaptation to their snowy habitat. Young snowy owls are grey in colour, but this changes as they get older. The female has dark spots and bands and older males are often completely white. Snowy owls hunt in both the day and night time, feeding mostly on small mammals and occasionally fish as well. The snowy owl has a thick coat of feather on their feet to help protect them from the cold and snow conditions in which they live.
